According to Hindu legends, the temple was initially built by the Pandavas, and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest Hindu shrines of Shiva. The Pandavas were supposed to have pleased Shiva by doing penance in Kedarnath.
Visit Kedarnath Temple: The main attraction of Kedarnath Dham is the ancient Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated at an altitude of 3,583 metres (11,755 feet), the temple is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and offers a serene ambiance for prayer and meditation.
Badarinath is one of the holy shrines for Vaishnavites among the 108 divya desams incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Badrinath town is also the part of Panch Badri temples including Yog Dhyan Badri, Bhavishya Badri, Adi Badri and Vriddha Badri, along with Badrinath temple.

Upon arrival in Delhi, we will pick up you from Delhi airport/ station and drive to Haridwar. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel. Relaxation at hotel. Later in Evening visit Har-Ki Pauri for the Aarti ceremony of mother Ganges [if time permits]. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at Haridwar.
Haridwar:
The highlight of Haridwar is the famous Ganga Aarti held at the Har ki Pauri Ghat every evening. Thousands of devotees come together to pray to river Ganga and float diyas. Haridwar is one of the four cities (others being Ujjain, Nasik and Allahabad) that host the Kumbh Mela every twelve years. The Kanwar Mela is also organised here every year during saawan (rainy season). It is also the gateway to the Char Dham of Uttarakhand and acts as the base destination for some of the other tourist towns of Rishikesh and Devprayag.
Morning After breakfast, check out from hotel and drive to Guptkashi. Upon arrival at Guptkashi check-in at hotel. Rest of the day free at hotel. Overnight stay at Guptkashi.
Guptkashi:
The temple town of Guptakashi is located at a distance of 47 kms from the holy town of Kedarnath. Perched at an elevation of 1319 m above the sea level, Guptakashi enjoys the mesmerising backdrop of the enchanting snow-covered peaks of Chaukhamba mountains.
It houses two ancient temples namely Vishwanath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Ardhnareshwar Temple. Manikarnika Kund is another popular destination in the town. In fact, Guptkashi serves as a perfect stopover for those travelling to Kedarnath. The fantastic weather, lush green forests and captivating views of Chaukhmaba Range along with its rich past and heritage, the town is a wholesome package for vacation makers.
Early in the morning you will drive till Sonprayag (vehicles allow till this point) from here you need to take a local jeep/ Max to reach Gaurikund (3 Kms, on direct payment basis, approx. INR 200 per person). Upon arrival in Gaurikund, you will start your Trek towards Kedarnath Temple, which is a long and beautiful man-made trail. After reaching, check in at your accommodation. Later performing Pooja and Darshan of Shri Kedarnath Temple. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.
Kedarnath:
Kedarnath is one of the most sacred temples and the holiest Hindu pilgrimages in India. A part of Chhota Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand, Kedarnath is one of the most important among the 12 Jyotirlingas in India dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Located on the Garhwal Himalayan Range in the Rudraprayag District, Kedarnath Temple can only be reached from Gaurikund through a trek and remains open only for six months from April to November, due to heavy snowfall in the region during the rest of the months.
Early morning, check-out from the hotel. Later trek down to Gaurikund. On arrival in Gaurikund from here you need to take a local jeep/ Max to reach Sonprayag (3 kms, on direct payment basis, approx. 200 per person). Later drive to Guptkashi. On arrival check-in at the hotel. An overnight stay.
Sonprayag:
Sonprayag, situated in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India, holds profound religious significance as it marks the sacred confluence of two mighty rivers, Basuki and Mandakini. Nestled amidst the picturesque Himalayan landscape, this tranquil hamlet serves as a pivotal point for pilgrims embarking on the sacred Char Dham Yatra, which includes the revered shrines of Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Gaurikund:
Gaurikund in Guptakashi is famous for being the starting point and the last road head before the Kedarnath Yatra begins. Gaurikund is located on the banks of the River Mandakini and is rightly considered to be the gateway to spirituality and salvation. Located at an altitude of about 2,000 meters above sea level, the Gaurikund Temple and Gauri Lake are important landmarks that the place is famous for.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Badrinath. Enroute drive via Chopta and visit Narsingh Temple at Joshimath. Upon arrival at Badrinath, check-in at the hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Evening visit at Shri Badrinath Temple Aarti [If time permits]
Badrinath:
Badrinath, known for the sacred Badrinath Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu is one of the four Char Dham and Chota Char Dham pilgrimage yatras. Perched on the Garhwal hill tracks, near the Alaknanda River, Badrinath is situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Placed between Nar and Narayan mountain ranges, Badrinath Temple is situated in the backdrop of the mighty Neelkanth mountain and is known for stunning natural beauty.
Situated at the height of 10,279 feet, the Badrinath Temple is believed to be originally established by the saint, Adi Shankaracharya. The temple houses a black stone idol of Lord Vishnu which is 1m tall and is considered to be one of the 8 swayam vyakta kshetras or self-manifested statues of Vishnu. It also finds its mention in the 108 Divya Desams devoted to Lord Vishnu in India.
Morning after bath in the Taptkund visit to Shri Badrinath Temple, Brahma Kamal is significant for Pind Dan Shradh of ancestors (Pitru). There is other interesting sightseeing spot like Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Mata Murti Temple, Bhim Kund and the "Mukh '' of the Saraswati River & Saraswati Temple. Just within the three Kms of Badrinath Ji.
After the sightseeing tour, drive towards Joshimath/Rudraprayag. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Joshimath/Rudraprayag.
Vyas Gufa:
Vyas Gufa is a sacred site in Mana near Badrinath, Uttarakhand where Maharishi Ved Vyas documented Mahabharata with the help of Lord Ganesha. Many other Puranas, Sutras and Veda were also composed by Maharishi Ved Vyas in this cave. A unique feature of the cave is the roof that resembles the pages of a script.
Mata Murti Temple:
Dedicated to the mother of twin brothers, Lord Badrinath and Nara, Mata Murti Temple is a sacred Hindu temple located in Badrinath. Lord Badrinath is also known as Narayan. It is believed that Mata Murti prayed with utmost dedication to Lord Vishnu and requested him to take birth from her womb as his next incarnation. Lord Vishnu, pleased with her devotion, took birth in the form of the twins. Therefore, praying to the Goddess is believed to free one from the sufferings of the materialistic life. A fair is held every year in September at the temple on the day of Shravan Dwadashi in the honour of the Goddess.
Rudraprayag:
Lying at the confluence of River Alaknanda and River Mandakini, Rudraprayag is a sacred place regarded as one of the Panch Prayags and place of great religious significance. Settled in Uttarakhand, this beautiful town is full of mysterious charm and the spiritual vibes that will calm your senses.
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Haridwar. En-route visiting Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Triveni Ghat temples and Ashrams. Upon arrival, check-in at hotel. Overnight stay at Haridwar.
Rishikesh:
Located in the foothills of the Himalayas along the convergence of Ganga and Chandrabhaga River, Rishikesh is a small town in the Dehradun district, located close to Haridwar in Uttarakhand. Rishikesh became known worldwide in the 1960s after The Beatles visited the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi here. Today, the place is popular as The Beatles Ashram which beckons tourists globally. The tranquil town has long been a spiritual centre but is equally popular for the whitewater rafting, bungee jumping, mountain biking and camping along the fast-flowing Holy Ganges. It also serves as the gateway to many Himalayan treks.
